Spray Programs

OVS publishes annual spray programs for the following specialty agricultural crops: hazelnuts, wine grapes, blackberries and blueberries. Listed below are the crops and major chemistries (and their relevant vendor website) that are included in the 2007 Spray Programs.

For specific information on quantity per acre, order of tank addition and/or frequency, visit the appropriate crop’s Spray Program - links are listed below and on the main menu bar.

The Spray Programs focus on proven efficacy under Oregon’s existing Willamette Valley conditions.  They emphasize softer chemistries, with the intent of reducing any negative impact of chemical inputs on plants or soil. The ultimate focus is disease prevention and healthy plant performance.

The conventional OVS wine grape Spray Program recommends soft chemistries for the diseases common in Oregon: powdery mildew and botrytis.  The Spray Program also emphasizes nutritional sprays. Most of these chemistries are approved for use by the Low Input Viticulture and Enology program (http://liveinc.org) and a few have organic registration with the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) (http://www.omri.org).
