Spraying
Protection |

Personal protective equipment
(PPE) is an important
consideration when applying
agricultural chemicals, or when
entering a recently sprayed
field.
In addition to
the respirators shown below, OVS
sells a full range of Tyvek
coveralls, nitrile gloves (and
others) and goggles. To
determine what protective gear
may be required for a given
chemical, check
www.cdms.net
and look for the appropriate
Material Safety Data Sheet
(MSDS). |

Motorized, Kasco
OVS carries the K80S
series of Kasco spray helmets. These
offer excellent protection for workers
spraying agricultural chemicals,
including restricted use products.
The
K80S series has two primary
models:
K803-T9,
which operates from the 12V tractor
battery
K80S-T8,
which operates from a portable 6V
battery.
How do they work? Air is
pulled at over 6 cubic feet per minute
through organic vapor cartridges via an
electric motor. The purified air travels
through a flexible hose to the spray
helmet. The lightweight fiberglass
helmet (1.75 pounds) is polyurethane
coated for durability, and has ample
room for eyeglasses. It features an
adjustable headband, a
hinged visor, exhaust
vents and a washable collar with
drawstring. Replacement parts are
available.

Non-motorized respirators,
Sundstrom
OVS carries the
Sundstrom brand of respirators, both the
half mask and the full face mask.
Sundstrom respirators are approved for
general and restricted use chemicals.
The
Full Face
filtering respirators cover the entire
face, providing breathing protection as
well as eye and face protection against
spills and spatters.

The Half Face
filtering respirator covers nose and
mouth only, providing breathing
protection only. Of these,
OVS carries two models, the SR100
for heavy duty use and the
SR90-2
for intermittent use.
All styles on Sundstrom
respirators can be fitted with
compressed air supply, voice
communication units and many other
accessories.
