Strainers and joiners

Joining the wire can be achieved with the use of gripples or swedge sleeves (either the Nicopress or the Live Wire brands).  Different sizes are required depending on the gauge of wire used. The necessary crimping tool is available, both domestic and import.

Gripples are becoming increasingly popular as both joiners and tensioners in a vineyard, blueberry or orchard trellis application. Visit the Gripple site for more information on installation and use: http://www.gripple.com/agriculture/. Gripples are available in different sizes to match the wire gauge: small, medium, large and maxi and the new releasable style.  Special tools are required.

Strainers/tensioners

Tensioners are an important part of a sturdy trellis system. They allow tightening of the wires as the weight of the fruit stretches it over time.  Different tools are required based on the type of strainer. Call OVS for pricing, advice and quantity discounts!
