Interesting to note just how late this crop season will be, as compared to the past few years.  The graph shows total cumulative heat units (day degrees) for various areas of the PNW from Jan 1 through Jun 30.  Note that for a 'typical' 75 degree day in the PNW, about 15 units are accumulated.  Therefore, Salem is about 13 days BEHIND last year.
