Friday September 6
After another day or so of warm-to-hot conditions, temperatures will cool down into the pleasant range for about 10 days. Keep that Mug hot with a refill and let’s get this done —
Near triple-digits around the Willamette Valley today, with plenty of smoke (Air Quality Index range is MODERATE ~70-101 around the valley/Portland). It will cool off a bit on Sat; more so on Sunday. Smoke will drift to the east, away from the valley.
Next week looks dry, except for a few widely scattered dust-busting showers showers on Wed. Temps likely in the 70s. The weekend of Sep 14,15 is trending dry, pleasant.
The first notable threat for region wide measurable precipitation is charting around Tue Sep 17 & 18, as an organized Low moves into the PNW from the BC coast. Damp & cool for a couple of days. By Thu the 19th, expect clearing and return to pleasant temperatures - possibly topping out in the 80s west side by Fri. However, the chance for additional showers returns during the weekend of the 21st & 22nd. California may also pick up a quick-shot of precip around the 21st.
Bottom line: mild temps ahead, with a few showers for all after the 16th.
